Mission: Nazareth housing development corporation ("organization") exists to develop, encourage and facilitate safe and decent affordable housing for low and moderate income families and individuals in summit county, ohio. This is accomplished by way of rehabilitation of older homes and construction of new homes for rental, homeownership or lease/purchase. Work performed includes all mechanicals to meet current building code standards; updating interior finishes; interior redesigns; lead abatement; energy efficient furnaces/ appliances/ windows. In tending to individual houses and families, the organization takes care of neighborhoods throughout the city of akron and concentrated neighborhoods in the county of summit. The organization further fulfills its mission by partnering with other groups for financial assistance and volunteer support. These groups include the city of akron, county of summit, foundations, banks and other businesses, church groups, student groups, families and individuals. Programs: Rehabilitate vacant and/or abandoned houses for rent, lease or purchase by low to moderate income families in summit county, ohio. Bring houses up to current building code standards; ensure safe property-specific water treatment systems (well/septic); increase energy efficiency; update interior finishes and redesign interiors as feasible to create safe, contemporary homes; build new homes as necessary. remove hazardous lead and bring older homes up to current building code standards for low to moderate income homeowners with young children in the city of akron and southern summit county.

Mission: The organization provides lodging for children and their parentswhile they are receiving treatment at local hospitals. The organization gives the parents and other family members an affordable place to stay while being near their children. Programs: Rmh of akron, inc, operates a house for children and their parents while they are receiving treatment at local hospitals. It gives the parents and other family members an affordable place to stay while being near their children who are in the hospital. Ronald mcdonald house of akron cared for 519 families and over 10,505 individuals in 2017. Of the 519 families, 37 stayed long term (over one month). The families came from 40 ohio counties, 24 states and 4 countries. The house asks that each family donate $10 per night for their stay. Only 29% were able to donate nightly in 2017.

Mission: VSORP's goal is to formulate a strategy by working with area agencies to develop a community-wide plan to reduce homelessness in the community and to increase the supportive services for the homeless; and to secure new revenue to increase the supply of permanent housing for the homeless. VSORP offers interim help with the immediate needs of the veteran while helping them toward their future.
