Mission: The mission of neighborworks of grays harbor county is to develop partnerships in the community between business, government and residents to create safe and affordable housing opportunities for all residents of grays harbor county. Programs: For housing rehabilitation and homeownership opportunities, neighborworks maintains revolving loan funds as well as lending partnerships which, together, makes a flexible loan program. Low, moderate and middle income (lmmi) homeowners within grays harbor county are able to borrow money through the multiple revolving loan funds in the loan program for purchase and/or rehabilitating their homes, while maintaining affordable housing costs and manageable debt ratios. Neighborworks loans can be in conjunction with local, commercial lenders who provide home purchase mortgages. Local bankers have such confidence in neighborworks that they regularly commit part of their loan portfolio to joint projects for home ownership. Neighborworks made and/or facilitated $ 6,487,454 in loans this fiscal year. With our housing counseling program, neighborworks is capable of helping clients with difficult credit histories and high debt ratios by using an intensive individualized approach. This year neighborworks assisted 206 homeowners and homebuyers with pre-purchase analysis as well as budget-money management. In addition, foreclosure prevention and pre-foreclosure sale counseling are provided. Neighborworks is a member of a collaboration of neighborworks organizations known as "homesage" which is dedicated to providing internet-based homebuyer education. This online education meets national industry standards for homeownership education and is offered statewide through ehome america. For safe & affordable rental housing opportunities, neighborworks owns and manages rental houses/duplexes, of which 16 units are section 8 project based-subsidy apartments; 2 units are leased to another nonprofit agency used as a shelter for homeless families with children; 3 duplexes and 12 houses are rented at market rate with section 8 vouchers accepted. One house is available on a lease with purchase option. Neighborworks also acts as management agent for a hud 811 project which provides homes to 8 developmentally disabled tenants.

Mission: To help homeless families with children become self-sufficient and productive members of society. Results: Provided 22,908 nights of shelter and support to homeless mothers, fathers and children. 82% successfully moved on to permanent, stable housing Served 143 individuals, including 88 children Programs: Transitional housing, emergency shelter and supportive housing for homeless families with children

Mission: Christmas in April began in 1973 in Midland, TX, where some local community leaders and volunteers assisted a neighbor in need by rehabilitating her dilapidated home. The program spread, and Christmas in April USA was founded in 1988 as the national headquarters, offering assistance to our 245 affiliates across the country to provide necessary repairs to low-income homeowners and communities. The work done on these homes is free for the homeowner, and done primarily by skilled and unskilled volunteers. Both volunteers and recipients benefit from improving their communities, one house, one non-profit facility, at a time.
