Mission: To educate & advocate for the interests of the alaska gay, lesbian, bisexual & transgender population regarding their presence in the community & their value to the community as a whole. Programs: The organization hosts pridefest, a week-long celebration of diversity in the community of anchorage, and the fall pride conference, a full day of workshops, speakers, and vendors providing information and education on gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered health, safety and social issues. the organization promotes and conducts a survey of alaskan businesses that focuses on the inclusion and recognition of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered community. The survey rates businesses on workplace policies, benefits and community engagement. operate community center to provide a safe place for gay & lesbian people to meet & advocate for gay & lesbian issues. youth programs work specifically with lesbian, gay, bisexual & transgender youth in anchorage & across alaska to provide resources and support. A youth summit brings young people from rural alaska to meet other lgbt youth, discuss issues, build social networks, and develop coping skills around bullying.
