Mission: To provide health, wellness, nutrition, transportation, social and other services that enhance the quality of life, independence, dignity and aid in the prevention of critical acute care needs of our community. Programs: Transportation - this program provides the elderly and disabled of aiken county with access to group dining to one of our six meal sites, shopping, errands, medical appointments, etc. This service enables them to remain independent and provides for transit opportunities when their health or financial restraints prevent them from being able to travel to desired destinations to maintain their independence and quality of life. congregate meals - this program provides the seniors of aiken county with a group dining setting that provides activities, educational presentations, camaraderie, wellness activities and a hot 1/3 rda noon time meal. home delivered meals - this program provides the seniors of aiken county that may be homebound with nutritional meals 5-7 days per week. Many of the clients are unable to prepare a simple meal or lack that support of family/friends to assist with their daily needs this program provides the infrastructure to extend the time seniors are able to remain independent in their homes without the expense and burden of being institutionalized. home care

Mission: The organization provided emergency aid to 21,854 needy in aiken county, sc in 2014, including food, clothing, utility and prescription assistance, furniture and housewares. 22,017 volunteer hours were received. Community impact of approximately $1. 9 million. Programs: The target population served by acts is the disabled, elderly, and working poor with incomes not more than 150% of the federal poverty guidelines. The average combined monthly income is about $925/mo. Acts interviews clients to establish need, income and frequency within service guidelines. During the interview process the interviewer strives to ascertain the client's overall needs and the root causes of the problem. This allows acts to determine the overall assistance that can be provided. We often collaborate with numerous agencies to provide services for overall needs. All of our services are free to qualified persons. acts provides emergency utility assistance including utility payments, portable fans and oil-filled radiator heaters to families in need of supplemental assistance. When it is established that the client is qualified, utility companies are contacted to verify the bill and overdue status. Payment pledges to the utility companies are made, thus avoiding the client's reconnect fees. The process is completed when acts makes final payment to the utility company, which is done on a monthly basis. Acts guidelines states that utility assistance can be provided once a year unless there is a new crisis or emergency such as loss of job, change in family structure or a serious illness. acts operates two food programs. The senior food distribution which is one saturday every month serving approximately 400 seniors supplemental food (for a week/21 meals). Many seniors are living on less than $800/mo. And may be deficient in food, medicine and housing expenses. The food pantry is open 5 days a week and is serving clients that meet income and program guidelines. The clothes closet is open 5 days a week and is available to clients that meet income guidelines and are in need of clothing. Our program guidelines state that clothing can be provided up to 4 times a years, typically during a seasonal climate changes.

Mission: To provide housing for elderly and physically handiapped individuals. Programs: To operate a 40 unit rental property for the purpose of housing physically handicapped and elderly individuals in canton, ohio.

Mission: To help our neighbors maintain their independence and quality of life through the interfaith community volunteers who are trained and supported by the interfaith caregivers program. Programs: Transportation services - interfaith caregivers program volunteers assist primarily the elderly population of summit county with maintaining their independence in the community by providing transportation to essential non-emergency medical appointments, grocery shopping and running essential errands such as picking up medication. Without this transportation service many of our elderly care recipients would not be able to keep their medical appointments and purchase groceries reducing their level of health and quality of life. As the aging population continues to increase the need for transportation services offered by the program will only continue to rise. In 2014 our volunteers provided over 1,195 units of transportation services. What is unique about the services provided by interfaith caregivers program is that our volunteers provide door-to-door service, wait for the care recipient at the medical appointments, assist with the grocery shopping and carry the groceries inside the care recipient's home. friendly visit program - this program helps seniors feel less isolated in their own homes. Services included in the friendly visit program include respite for the primary caregiver decreasing caregiver stress within the family unit, light household chores, yard chores, minor household repairs, telephone reassurance or just visiting with someone who is isolated. The people we serve, primarily the elderly population, too often fall through the cracks from receiving services from other agencies. The interfaith caregivers program does not have prerequisites for service as there are not any age or income restrictions. In 2014 volunteers provided 2,416 units of service to care recipients through the friendly visit program.

Mission: Low income housing for the elderly and disabled persons Programs: The organization operates low-income housing for the elderly and disabled persons. The facility consists of 45 units and is regulated by hud.
