Mission: The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tulorosa Basin, Inc., is to make a positive difference in the lives of children and youth, primarily through a professionally-supported One-To-One relationship with a caring adult, and to assist them in achieving their highest potential as they grow to become confident, competent and caring individuals, by providing committed volunteers, national leadership and stardards of excellence.
Mission: To create relationships with families and the community to support the healthy emotional, physical, and educational development of children. Programs: The chins program highlights for the 2016/2017 include the following: - we were able to merge the infant mental health counseling into the childcare services for more comprehensive services. This has been very beneficial particularly for the foster care children in our centers as well as young children dealing with challenging and emotional issues. - we had a very successful galaxy gala fundraising event which provided great exposure and support in the community. It was the most well attended of all of our fundraisers with 500 in attendance. - we opened a counseling office for children and families in ruidoso, lincoln county - a long awaited goal. - we successfully recruited 4 new mental health therapists to the mental health team. - we were able to be successful in attaining foundation funding through the brindle foundation for providing sensory training/equipment to work with children on the autism spectrum in our childcare centers. - we able to provide high quality best practice training for both the counseling staff and childcare staff.
