Mission: To provide high quality, courteous, prompt, and cost effective emergency and non-emergency treatment and transportation along with education services to healthcare organizations, municipalities, and the general public. Programs: Community ambulance service continuously seeks to improve the pre-hospital healthcare provided in its primary service areas while ensuring that emergency and non-emergency ambulance service will be available to all those in need. The equipment is modern, state of the art, satisfactorily maintained, and adequately operated. Response times are monitored and kept within industry accepted parameters as well as utilization and adherence to current and local medical protocols. Community ambulance service is accredited by the commission on the accreditation of ambulance services (caas) which bears witness to the commitment to community service, public education, and high quality emergency medical care. In demonstration of these commitments, community ambulance service responded to 28,676 requests for ambulance service in 2016 and transported 21,989 patients. Community ambulance service (cas) currently provides emergency ambulance service to the communities of zanesville city, village of south zanesville, village of philo and the city of belpre, as well as the townships of muskingum, meigs, blue rock, harrison, washington, wayne, salt creek, springfield, along with mutual aid services to other member departments throughout the remainder of muskingum, perry and washington counties. The emergency requests within the city of zanesville were met with a response time average of 4 minutes 47 seconds. Supporting the community is a key part of our mission statement. In pursuit of that mission, cas provided support to fundraising efforts for several local charities. Other in kind services to the community included standbys at local events such as: boat and car races, motor-cross races, fourth of july events, local sporting events, fire and rehab standbys for multiple fire departments and several other activities throughout the service area. Cas also provided transport and standby services at the first aid tent for the muskingum county fair. Community ambulance provides paramedic (als) services to volunteer agencies who are unable to provide advanced levels of care during transport to ensure all patients receive high quality ems.

Mission: To provide compassionate, quality health care Programs: Genesis provides acute care services including medical, surgical, obstetrical, pediatric and critical care. Total discharges from medical/surgical units during 2017 were 7,157. Total obstetric discharges equaled 1,530 with 1,510 total births and pediatric discharges equaled 188. There were 405 critical care discharges, 1,399 cardiovascular discharges, 202 oncology discharges and 914 orthopedic discharges. Genesis provides a wide range of diagnostic and support services for inpatients and outpatients. These services are comprised of laboratory, imaging services, cardiac, and pharmacy. Laboratory services include chemistry, pathology, microbiology, hematology, cytology, and phlebotomy for total volumes in 2017 of 1,568,924. Imaging services includes radiology, nuclear medicine, mri, ultrasound, ct scan, pet scan, mammography and bone density scanning with total volumes of 186,326. genesis heart & vascular services provide needed heart care from prevention to rehabilitation. Our board-certified specialists include cardiologists, cardiothoracic vascular surgeons, electrophysiologists, interventional cardiologists, cardiac anesthesiologists and cardiac rehab specialists. The cardiothoracic and vascular surgical teams perform a wide variety of complex and high-risk cardiac, thoracic and vascular procedures including open heart surgery. Our cardiac team takes our patients from evaluation and diagnosis through lifestyle changes and treatments. Also included in our cardiac services are our clinics and specialty programs. These include an anticoagulation clinic, a congestive heart failure clinic, a device clinic, a vein clinic and a cardiac rehabilitation program. Genesis is an accredited chest pain center with pci, an accredited echocardiography facility, and in 2017 again received the american heart association/american stroke association's get with the guidelines-stroke gold plus quality achievement award with target: strokesm honor roll. The total number of heart & vascular cases treated in 2017 were 2,289. respiratory services - genesis respiratory & lung provides services for a variety of lung conditions and diseases including lung surgeries and respiratory therapy. Our team, including board-certified pulmonologists, provide care and treatment for patients with pneumonia, lung cancer, black lung disease, respiratory failure, collapsed lung, and other pleural diseases. The total number of respiratory cases treated in 2017 were 1,938.

Mission: To promote charitable support for genesis healthcare system as we share its mission to provide compassionate, quality healthcare. Programs: In 1997, good samaritan medical center and bethesda hospital association, a tax-exempt community hospital also located in zanesville, affiliated to form genesis healthcare system. Genesis has been granted 501(c)(3) status as a hospital. All hospital operations and assets of good samaritan medical center were transferred to genesis with the exception of certain investments. Good samaritan medical center will continue to have control over certain investments which are being used by the genesis healthcare system in fulfilling its tax-exempt purpose.
