Mission: The Hope Alliance is a 501[c][3] nonsectarian organization that partners with communities in need in the United States and the developing world, to create sustainable change in quality of life. The Hope Alliance brings volunteers and supplies to these communities, working side by side with local citizens on projects that encompass five areas:Basic short-term and long-term medical careAssistance in developing educational and literacy programsSanitation and water purification systemsInstruction and partnership in micro-enterpriseCollaborative training in leadership developmentThe vision to create The Hope Alliance sprang from a series of humanitarian relief projects organized and accomplished through the partnership of John Hanrahan, a family practice physician and Joe Mitchell, a minister. Inspired by the success of these projects, the support of their community, and the great needs that were apparent, Hanrahan and Mitchell founded the Hope Alliance in 1999 to accomplish and expand similar, ongoing projects. Today hundreds of volunteers work side by side with local residents to create change and empower people in need. Results: Completed a total of seven expeditions in the last year in countries such as Haiti, Guatemala and Uganda that totaled over 3,500 volunteer hours serving over 3,800 individuals. Many of these individuals received free, eye exams, eyeglass fittings, basic health care education or completed community projects. Target demographics: impoverished individuals and communities Direct beneficiaries per year: Over 3,800 individuals who had limited to no access to health care, distributed 4,503 eyeglasses, and over 30 children were sponsored to have the ability to go to school free of cost in Haiti Geographic areas served: Uganda, Guatemala, and Haiti Programs: Vision and dental clinics along with basic health education and skill training. Sewing school programs were implemented as well as jewelry making for a micro-enterprise in Haiti. Agricultural and community development, water-filtration systems and midwife training were all aspects of creating self sustainability that will have a positive impact in the long term.

The agency is a national leader in medical sheltering and provides critical emergency support services to state and local governments during disasters. (continued on schedule o) Programs: Bcfs health and human services (bcfs hhs), emergency management division is nationally recognized as a leader in the field of emergency management and disaster response, with particular expertise in mass care, public health, and medical response. The bcfs hhs emergency management division plays a key role in helping jurisdictions through turnkey response solutions and strengthening preparedness efforts and execute no-fail response operations that keep americans safe. (continued on schedule o) at the request of governments around the world, bcfs health and human services (bcfs hhs), residential services division (rsd) has established health and human service programs that care for abused and neglected children, unite new or struggling families, and help those in need. Bcfs hhs, rsd provides residential placement, post placement, call center and advocacy services to vulnerable populations. (continued on schedule o) bcfs health and human services (bcfs hhs), community services division (csd), operates over 30 state and federal contracts in 8 office locations throughout texas. Bcfs hhs csd provides services to at-risk youth and youth aging out of foster care, preventive and early intervention services such as parenting, counseling and case management services to at risk families, individuals and juvenile offenders, and educational services geared at helping children to make more informed decisions. Mission: To initiate awareness campaigns on health/social issues: drug abuse, mental health and stem education with the entertainment industries. Programs: Public education/awareness regarding substance use disorders (sud) and mental health issues. Eic provided technical assistance to the entertainment industry concerning depictions of sud and mental illness encouraging accuracy and avoidance of unintended consequesnces of on-screen images. Eic reviewed and identifies top prism award submissions from 2015 productions related to sud and mental health issues. health, education, and communication - to educate the public and entertainment industry work force through depiction of various health and social issues in entertainment productions. Eic conducted writer briefings and produced publications for website distribution to community journalists and stakeholders. Eic continued to provide electronic newsletters on these and other topics including skin cancer prevention. eic produced webcast series on substance use disorders (sud)and mental health issues primarily designed for journalists and entertainment industry content producers. The webcasts featured subject matter experts, people with lived experiences, health care providers and media professionals. The webcasts were distributed to media organizations, health stakeholder groups and interested parties.
